Pertamina eyes overseas deals
27 February 2013 04:36 GMT
Indonesian state-run company Pertamina plans to continue to expand its upstream business overseas despite its recent failure to secure a stake Venezuela’s Petrodelta.
The Indonesian government voted against Pertamina’s planned $725 million acquisition of a 32% stake Petrodelta from New York-listed Harvest Natural Resources last week.
Despite this setback, local media quoted Pertamina’s investment planning and risk-management director, Afdal Bahaudin, as saying the company would continue to look to purchase overseas oilfields in order to boost production.
