For 2 months, Ukraine has reduced gas imports by 20%
Kiev, Neftegaz.RU. In January-February 2019, Ukraine imported 0.9 billion m 3 of gas, which is 20% less than the 2018 figure.
It is noted that for the fourth winter in a row Ukraine has been importing gas exclusively from EU countries.
In addition, Ukrtransgaz reports that in January-February 2019, 13.8 billion m 3 of gas was transported through Ukraine from Russia to European countries and Moldova. Compared with the rate of 2018, transit volumes increased by 15% - 1.8 billion m 3.
As for the fields of Ukraine: in the gas transmission system (GTS) for 2 months of 2019, 3.5 billion m 3 of gas was received - an indicator of 3% more than in 2018. In January-February 2019, gas was practically not pumped into underground gas storage facilities (UGS), as in 2018.
Gas extraction from UGS in January-February 2019 amounted to 4.1 billion m3, which is 0.6 billion (13%) less than in the same period of 2018. In total, as of the end of February 2019, Ukrainian consumers transported 7.9 billion m 3 of gas through the main gas pipelines, which is 9% less than in 2018.
