UAE's ENOC buys naphtha from India's onGC after nearly a decade
Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has scooped up 35,000 tonnes of naphtha from India's Oil and National Gas Corp (ONGC) in a rare move, trade sources said on Friday.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) firm, unlike trading houses such as Vitol, Trafigura or Petro-Diamond, does not regularly buy naphtha from the Indian spot market.
But it won the sales tender awarded late on Thursday for the cargo scheduled for [calendarclick]April 1-2loading from Mumbai at a premium of $20 to $21 a tonne to Middle East quotes on a free-on-board (FOB) basis.
The last time ENOC was seen buying a cargo from onGC for Mumbai loading was in first-half of 2009, Reuters data showed, although it had bought naphtha from Indian Oil Corp in 2016.
