Gazprom for 2.5 months increased gas production by 2.6%
St. Petersburg, Neftegaz.RU. Gazprom from January 1 to March 15, 2019 increased gas production by 2.6% (by 2.9 billion m 3) compared to the same period in 2018, to 112.8 billion m 3.
The company's gas sales in the domestic market from the gas transmission system (GTS) decreased by 3.6% (by 2.8 billion m 3).
Gas export to non-CIS countries continues to decline. In the period from January 1 to March 15, 2019, Gazprom reduced the volume of gas supplies to non-CIS countries by 8.2% to 40.8 billion m 3. The effect of a high base is having an effect - the winter and the beginning of spring 2018 turned out to be record highs. Including In March 2018, historic highs in gas supplies were recorded for the day and month due to the cooling and heavy snowfall in Europe. In 2019, the completion of the autumn-winter period in Europe takes place under the influence of abnormally warm weather.
At the same time, a number of countries demonstrate increased demand for gas supplied by Gazprom. In particular, exports grew: to Austria - by 24.1%, to the Czech Republic - by 64.9%, to Italy - by 8.4%, to Hungary - by 12.6%, to Slovakia - by 8%, to France - by 2.4%.
Recall that in accordance with the results of 2018, Gazprom increased gas production by 5.7% compared with 2017, to 497.6 billion m 3. In 2019, production is planned in the amount of 495.1 billion m 3 of gas, which corresponds to a decrease of 0.5% compared with the result of 2018. This is traditional for Gazprom, which at the beginning of the year, predicting the volume of production, usually follows a conservative, moderately moderate approach. And already during the year, depending on the market situation, the forecast for production volumes is adjusted.
For gas exports to non-CIS countries, Gazprom has not yet announced forecasts for 2019. Recall that in 2018 Gazprom increased gas exports to non-CIS countries by 3.8% compared with 2017, to 201.8 billion m 3. This was a record figure, with Gazprom setting records for the second year in a row, but Gazprom exceeded the bar at 200 billion m 3 for the first time. There were hopes that 204.5 billion m 3 / year of gas would be reached (the maximum annual contract volume for all export contracts to non-CIS countries), but the volume of export was nevertheless lower.
