而且该项目将支持近海1区Golfinho/Atum气田的开发。

Anadarko reaches FID on 12.88 mil mt/year Area 1 Mozambique LNG project
Houston-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp and its partners in Mozambique's Offshore Area 1 exploration area have taken a final investment decision on the Area 1 Mozambique LNG project, Anadarko said Tuesday in a statement.
This FID is a signal for construction to begin on what will be one of two large LNG export projects planned for Mozambique, the other being the competing ExxonMobil-led Rovuma LNG project. The two projects will turn Mozambique into a key LNG exporter.
"As the world increasingly seeks cleaner forms of energy, the Anadarko-led Area 1 Mozambique LNG project is ideally located to meet growing demand, particularly in expanding Asian and European markets," Anadarko chief executive Al Walker said.
The Area 1 Mozambique LNG project, expected to cost $20 billion, will comprise two LNG trains with a total nameplate capacity of 12.88 million mt/year.
Anadarko, the operator of the project, said 11.1 million mt/year of long-term LNG sales contracts have already been secured with LNG buyers in Asia and Europe, representing 86% of the plant's nameplate capacity.
"Additionally, the project is expected to have a significant domestic gas component for in-country consumption to help fuel future economic development," Anadarko said in the statement, adding that the project will support the development of the Golfinho/Atum fields in Offshore Area 1.
Anadarko has a 26.5% interest in Offshore Area 1 alongside ENH Rovuma Area Um SA with 15%, Japan's Mitsui E&P 20%, India's onGC Videsh 10%, Beas Rovuma Energy Mozambique 10%, India's Bharat PetroResources Ltd 10% and Thailand's PTTEP 8.5%.
