Russia’s PVC production up 4% in H1
Russia’s production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) totalled 502,600 tonnes in the first six months of 2019, up by 4% year on year, according to MRC’s ScanPlast report.
By producers, RusVinyl, a joint venture between SIBUR and SolVin, produced 166,800 tonnes of PVC in January-June, up by 7% year on year, as the company benefited from the lack of turnarounds.
SayanskKhimPlast produced about 162,500 tonnes of the resin in January-June, compared to 149,800 tonnes a year earlier.
Baskhir Soda Company produced 137,300 tonnes in the first six months of this year, compared to 132,600 tonnes in the same period in 2018.
Kaustik, which underwent scheduled maintenance from mid-May to mid-June, produced 36,000 tonnes of PVC in the first six months of 2019, down from 46,400 tonnes a year earlier.
