Peru ships six LNG cargoes in July
Exports from the Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Pampa Melchorita recovered in July following only two cargoes exported in June but fell compared to the corresponding month last year.
Data from the state-owned Perupetro shows that five vessels departed the facility, with volumes totaling 724,858 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.
Compared to July 2018, when the facility shipped 867,227 cubic meters of LNG onboard six vessels, this is a 16.4 percent drop.
All five cargoes landed in Asia with two delivered to China and South Korea each, and one cargo landing in Japan.
With the five cargoes dispatched during the past month, the facility’s total rose to 526 since it started operations in June 2010.
The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
